Upon their reawakening, we profoundly transformed the structure of our classes. Previously, our style welcomed dozens of students in a single day, fostering experience in touching diverse bodies through partner work. While certainly valuable for encountering various patterns, we also felt a subtle frustration – an inability to truly attune to each individual's inner sensations and the profound, fundamental essence of "touch" within bodywork.
Thus, the classes we have now revived are held once or twice monthly, within a focused two-hour timeframe, and above all, are committed to an intimate, small-group format. This is because, through "Unfolding Bodywork," we aspire to meticulously convey the fundamental essence – guiding each participant to deeply commune with their body and draw forth the inherent sensations residing within them, all while engaging in a devoted, one-on-one presence.
Ignited by Ardent Devotion: The Kindled Flame of a Shared Purpose
Truthfully, I myself had no immediate plans to rekindle the classes. However, a cherished individual who had experienced my bodywork sessions consistently conveyed, for an entire year, an fervent desire: "I truly yearn to learn Unfolding Bodywork." As one who strives to honestly follow the whispers of my own heart, I confess I couldn't immediately respond to this deep longing, and for about half a year, I gently set that conversation aside.
Yet, with each encounter, as this person conveyed their pure passion to "learn" through an unwavering, earnest gaze, a flame to "share" was reignited within my own heart. "I must respond to this ardent dedication." With this singular intention, I resolved to recommence the classes.

Yet, precisely because of this, when I witness students deeply engaging at their own rhythm, taking the class insights home as "homework" to embody in practice, and drawing profound awareness and wisdom from these experiences through their own efforts, I sense a deep resonance in this approach. Ultimately, my role in the class is simply to offer the "spark" or the "seed" of learning. How one nurtures this seed and cultivates it into personal growth, I recognize anew, rests entirely upon the recipient's heartfelt "desire to learn" and their devoted daily practice.

And returning to the role of "teaching" bodywork after a considerable time, a scene resonates deeply within my heart anew. It is the realization, "How truly exquisite is the sight of one human being touching another." Beyond mere knowledge and technique, the hands that gently attune to the recipient's mind and body, touching with profound intention – in that form, in that presence, there is an overflowing of affection and a sacred dignity that conveys undeniable strength. For me, it is the most pure "art," so much so that I genuinely envision, one day, creating a photographic collection solely capturing these beautiful moments of human connection through touch.

Through these classes, and indeed through our bodywork sessions, we are continually prompted to reflect anew on the "value" that bodywork bestows. While we establish a fee for both sessions and classes, occasionally, individuals gracefully offer more than the set amount, expressing, "This feels too modest for the profound experience." Though we believe our fees are not inexpensive, the profound gratitude we feel when clients perceive "value beyond the price," their generous spirit, and the support they extend to our endeavors, is truly cherished.
