セッション後も続く『じぶんの変化』を楽しむために〜Unfolding Bodyworkが教えてくれる日常のヒント〜

Eyecatch

A session at Unfolding Bodywork is not merely a momentary relaxation. The end of a session isn't the 'peak state'; rather, it's a fresh starting point. From this state, where your body's tension has eased and energy begins to flow, you'll feel your 'self-transformation' gradually progress in beautiful ways through your daily life, much like a seed sprouting and slowly nurturing itself.

So, how can you integrate the sensations and 'insights' gained from your session into your daily life and deepen these evolving changes?

1. Cultivating the Habit of Consciously Listening to Your Body's Voice

At Unfolding Bodywork sessions, we prioritize turning your awareness not to intellectual thought, but to 'how your body feels in this very moment.' This profound sensitivity can be consciously practiced and refined in your daily life, long after your session concludes.

  • When you sense fatigue: Instead of pushing 'just a little more,' consciously choose the 'state of rest your body truly craves.' Even a few minutes of closing your eyes, stretching, or lying down can make a profound difference.
  • When you feel an intense craving for something specific: For instance, if you suddenly desire junk food or sweets, it might be 'a sign your body is fatigued.' Rather than judging this impulse as 'bad,' acknowledge it with compassion: 'My body must be tired.' If possible, choose to finish work early and prepare for rest; your body will swiftly move towards recovery.
  • When you crave carbonated drinks: An intense desire for beer or other carbonated beverages might be your body signaling that it's in 'a constricted state.' Again, instead of forcing yourself to endure, understand that 'your body wants to distract itself from this constriction with stimulation.' Treat it as a temporary change of pace, and try to release physical tension through deep breathing or gentle stretches.

2. Practicing to Shift Your Awareness from 'Future Worries' to 'Here and Now'

In our work and relationships, we often find ourselves constantly fixated on 'future' worries and plans. Yet, our body always resides in the 'here and now.' This dissonance between mind and body can become a significant source of fatigue.

  • Focus on your breath: If you feel your awareness has drifted to the future, for just a few moments, concentrate on your 'breath.' The inhale, the exhale, the movement of your abdomen... Your breath is always present, 'here and now.' By repeating this, you can gently draw your awareness back to your body.
  • Engage your five senses: Practice perceiving 'now' through your five senses – the sounds, scents, textures, and sights of your present environment. Consciously noticing the aroma of coffee, the feel of a chair, or the trees visible outside your window can naturally bring you into the 'present moment.'

3. Extending the 'Non-Intervention' Perspective to Yourself and Others

At Unfolding Bodywork, we do not 'fix' your body; instead, we embrace a 'non-intervention' stance, trusting and observing your 'innate self-healing capabilities.' This perspective can be applied to myriad situations in your daily life.

  • Release self-judgment: When you hear voices of self-judgment like, 'I must try harder' or 'I'm not good enough,' begin by objectively acknowledging, 'Ah, I'm thinking this way.' Just as your body isn't 'bad,' neither are you.
  • Release judgment of others: Before reacting to someone's actions or words, pause and imagine the underlying emotions or circumstances that might be influencing them. By respecting others 'as they are' rather than attempting to forcibly change them, the quality of your relationships will naturally deepen and improve.

Unfolding Bodywork plants the seeds of 'awareness' within you through each session. These seeds will continue to gently nurture themselves within your body and mind long after the session, blossoming into a richer, more 'authentic you' every day.

We warmly invite you to integrate the sensations and 'insights' gained from your session into your daily life. These small, consistent practices will undoubtedly lead to profound transformation.
