“Recently, I feel as if my mind and body are somehow fragmented…”
Amidst daily busyness and stress, do you ever experience such a feeling? From the perspective of Polarity Therapy, which I once explored, I believe that reintegrating the “Mind” and “Body” that have become separated throughout life’s processes is “awareness” itself, and a crucial process for reclaiming your true self.
Two Major Factors Contributing to the Fragmentation of “Mind” and “Body”
Why do our “Mind” and “Body” drift apart? Primarily, two significant factors can be considered.
1. Discord Between “Mind” and “Body”
For instance, when you're so heartbroken you want to cry, but your surroundings don't allow it, or you suppress your emotions, believing “I shouldn't cry,” your body might force itself to smile.
When such a discord between “Mind” and “Body” persists for a long time, it creates significant internal distortion. This becomes a cause leading to mental distress and chronic physical symptoms. The body is honest; when the mind is pushing itself too hard, it invariably sends out signals somewhere.
2. “Mind” in the Past, “Body” in the Present
Furthermore, if the “Mind” is trapped by painful past events or trauma, a fragment of the “Mind” remains tethered to that event, while only the “Body” lives in the “now.”
Blaming others or oneself for past events, or regretting to the point of losing self-belief... When such a state continues, the body loses vitality, and no matter how much rest one gets, the feeling of exhaustion persists. This, too, becomes a major cause of various chronic symptoms. When the mind is bound by the past, the flow of life energy that moves the body becomes stagnant.
While these examples are simple, there are many moments in our life's journey when the “Mind” and “Body” become disconnected.
What Happens When “Mind” and “Body” Are Reintegrated?
So, what happens when the fragmented “Mind” and “Body” are brought back into integration?
While this isn't universally true, I observe that many individuals embark on a deep journey inward after an Unfolding Bodywork session and “reclaim their authentic selves.”
What always astounds me is the dramatic transformation they reveal when we meet for the second session.
- Appearance: Expressions soften, and eyes sparkle with brilliance.
- Voice: Transforms into a powerful, resonant sound emanating from the core of the body.
- Physical Condition: Of course, chronic symptoms that troubled them for years may have vanished.
This is the result of the body's life energy being reintegrated and blockages being released. As the body's tension eases, emotions accumulated in the mind are naturally liberated, and thoughts become clearer.
The human body is truly wondrous. At Unfolding Bodywork, by connecting with the deep wisdom residing within the body, we help reunite your “Mind” and “Body” and restore your authentic radiance. This will encourage your own “awareness” and become a journey toward living a freer, more fulfilled life.
How connected are your “Mind” and “Body” right now? Through deep relaxation and “awareness,” why not take a step towards a journey to reclaim your authentic self?
